The Coachmans Rest Motor Lodge is situated just south of Coonabarabran, picturesquely sited at the foothills of the Warrambungle Mountains and high above the Great Western Plains.
We have our own expansive garden setting and truly generous swimming pool for all the family to relax and enjoy. Our family atmosphere and friendly staff will be only too happy to help you discover the wonders of the Warrumbungles and if you’re energetic enough, enjoy the internationally famous treks through the range. After a busy day, guests can enjoy a meal at Coachman’s Bistro. Delicious menu items include barramundi, beef stroganoff, chicken schnitzel and lasagna. There is also a kids menu available.
Coachmans Rest is a 3-minute drive from Coonabarabran District Hospital and Crystal Kingdom Museum. Warrumbungle National Park is a 40-minute drive from the property.

Other places of interest include wineries, Pilliga Pottery with its unique glazing technique, Crystal Kingdom and cottage industries that are open to visitors. The town’s Visitor’s Centre boasts its own mini museum, lots to see of interest with mega fauna relics part of its exhibition; well worth taking the time to browse through.
An older style place with an expansive room which included a couch and a separate dining table and chairs. Instant hot water and a very comfortable bed. Didn't notice any highway noise. Nice grounds and a pool for summer.
Travelling home to Qld it was great to stop back into the Coachmans Rest at Coonabarabran where I was greated with open arms! My little dog remembered the room and was comfortable for the night! Loved the retro yellow bathroom fittings. Bed was comfortable and clean.$90 is a bargain!! See you at Christmas time again!!

Comfortable bed for the night. Bathroom needs a renovation. When travelling we need to be provided with a freezer in the fridge to refreeze our ice bricks which we weren’t provided with. It is a pet friendly motel & we had a howling dog next door which the owner saw to promptly. Down side was no WiFi as advertised which is a must for me.
